Several Common USB Interface Types
The full name of USB is Universal Serial Bus, which is a serial bus standard and a technical specification for input and output interfaces. It is widely used in information communication products such as personal computers and mobile devices, and is extended to Photographic equipment, digital TV, game consoles and other related fields.
There are four main types of USB interfaces:
Type-A, Type-B, Type Micro-B, and Type-C.
1. Type-A: Standard USB interface
Type-A is our most common USB interface type, which is commonly used on computers. But it has a obvious problem: there is a direction requirement. The connector (male port) can only be inserted into the interface (female port) from a specific direction, but because the two sides of the USB port are very close, this insertion process often makes mistakes.
2. Type-B: Commonly used in printer equipment
Type-B is the most common and popular data interface type on printers, and some displays will also use this interface.
3. Type Micro-B: USB standard for mobile devices
The Type Micro-B used in the first Android mobile phone is still widely used in various mobile portable devices, including tablet computer, mobile hard disk and digital camera.
4. Type-C: Or will become the mainstream
The biggest feature of Type-C interface is that it supports positive and negative insertion, which formally solves the worldwide problem of "USB is never inserted correctly". Although Type-C has appeared for a short time, it can be predicted that with the maturity of USB Type-C technology, all kinds of laptops, tablets and even smart phones will begin to popularize USB Type-C interface in the future. Now the Type-C basically has a unified trend. Basically, new electronic devices are setting the USB port as the Type-C interface.
